Meet Our New Account Manager, Heather!

Toward the end of last year, Sassafras welcomed two new account managers to the team and we’re excited to finally introduce them to you! First up is Heather. Heather lives in the KC area and learned about Sassafras from a mutual friend. We’re so glad she came on board with us!

With further ado, here’s Heather:

What do you like most about working at Sassafras?

So far, the people.  Everyone has been so helpful and friendly.  I enjoy our team meetings where we get together in person!

Your hometown postcard—what’s on it?

I grew up just north of Chicago.  The Chicago skyline, the lakefront, DePaul University and Wrigley Field and Bacino’s pizza.  Most people think of Chicago deep-dish pizza but Chicago makes the best thin crust!

Who is your hero and why?

My parents.  Or my children.  It’s hard to choose because my parents worked so hard to provide me opportunities and worked tirelessly to do so.  My children because I see them struggle (with sports, school, friends) and yet they do it each day with a smile.  They truly find joy in each day.

What book are you reading right now?

Girl, Wash Your Face

Name an interesting thing about yourself that others might not know.

I love to paint with watercolors.  I am mediocre at best but I love it.

What is your favorite web site or app?

Is there a particular project or work product you are most proud of?

I’m still training but I am really excited to get started.  Sassafras creates such meaningful stories for their clients and I can’t wait to learn from the Sassafras team.

Describe your ideal Saturday!

Sleeping in, going for a run, watching my kiddos soccer games and then relaxing outside with friends enjoying a cold beer listening to live music.

You’re leaving town for a very, very long time…where would you dine for your last meal and what would you eat?

If I was in Chicago, I would eat at Portillo's.  The best Italian beef and fries!  In Kansas City, it would have to be BBQ.  I only eat it when my parents are in town usually.  I’d have to go to Joe’s Kansas City BBQ for a Z Man and fries.
